“Kokuhou (National Treasure)” is a novel by Shuichi Yoshida. The story follows the life of a gifted KABUKI actor, exploring themes of art, tradition, identity, love, and the sacrifices required to devote oneself to a cultural “national treasure.” The director is Lee Sang-il. The lead actor is Ryo Yoshizawa. This is Japan’s Oscar submission film. This movie is expected to be released in the U.S. nationwide early 2026. This video may include some details about the film.
