Zoro NEEDED to be Japanese. there is no going over about it. he embodies old Japanese culture, samurai and bushido. something an actor of different ethnicity will have difficulties portraying on screen.
To be fair if I hear the word "netflix" I would instantly run as fast as I could from them. Careers ruined by playing in terrible films butchered by netflix.
I was definitely someone who went, "Marry me, Mackenyu!" Literally every time I see this man, I die a little inside because I can't handle his beauty and his aura. I'm so glad they were persistent in getting him to audition for Zoro and they loved him; he is absolutely perfect, and I am so excited to see him in future OTLA arcs.
