Hopefully this match gets Naomi's blood going, knowing she was seconds from taking Iga out. Even the handshake was brief on Naomi's part, showing perhaps determination for the next time they meet…..and that cross court BH was slamming here!
Osaka was so lucky that roof was closed! That changed everything! Her serve was more effective. Hard bitting! and much faster! so stop saying that Iga was lucky winning 5 games in the row.
This was like Djokovic-Wawrinka AO-13 level EPIC. Talk about peaking out of your mind but still not winning. One of the greatest matches ever in this generation.

Both played great, but 1ga was more calm than Osaka during key moments and that helped her win this match. Well done 1ga Swiatek.

Osaka showed she is back. Now, she needs to believe it herself! Once she does that, she will be unstoppable.

Great to see Naomi play well on clay, bummer to see that she’s been struggling to close matches out. In the first round of RG she had a 4-1 lead against Bronzetti in the third and somehow Bronzetti came back to battle for Osaka to finally win the match 7-5. Now against a significantly better player, Osaka doing all the right things and being up a match point 5-3 against Swiatek and not able to close it out!? These things will be the difference between Osaka winning slams again and her falling short of her potential in this second phase of her career. Really hope she learns from this match.
Hopefully the start of a great rivalry!
Iga Swaitek is the worst ever cheating no 1 in the world, She did racket tapping once again in this match! cheap disgusting behaviour by someone who uses IMG to get her opponents late night matches

Win Osaka is on fire she is one fire and unbeatable. She just needs to get back to raising her game and keeping it there throughout the match. I smell trouble guys and I love it. The big 3 better brace for a shake up lol
