エシカル・フィルム賞は、映画を通して環境、貧困、差別といった社会課題への意識や多様性への理解を広げることを目的として2023年に新設されました。本年度の東京国際映画祭にエントリーされた新作の中から「人や社会・環境を思いやる考え方・行動」という「エシカル」の理念に照らしてノミネートした3作品の中から、審査委員会によって受賞作品が決定しました。

The TIFF Ethical Film Award was launched in 2023, with the aim of raising awareness of social issues such as the environment, poverty and discrimination, and fostering understanding of diversity through film. From the titles selected for this year’s TIFF, three films that meet our ethical principles of “thoughts and actions that empathize with people, society and the environment” will be nominated, and the jury will select one film for the award.
Ethical Film Award goes to “White House”
Jury President Ikeda Elaiza praised it as “a film that quietly depicts the beauty of caring for others.”
