I really miss this court color when it was in Australian open and many other tournaments
It's a tennis ritual to shake hands across the net after the outcome has been decided.
You can really tell what a person is like by their facial expressions and attitude.
But when the winner, Osaka, sprinted over to shake Sonobe's hand with a smile,
Sonobe was surly and didn't even make eye contact.
He showed no respect for Osaka, a senior Grand Slam champion, and this is not acceptable.
If she has a coach, this calls into question his guidance.

Naomi is a grand slam champion but she skipped to the wildcard waiting at the net to shake hands. Minor detail but it shows the kind of person Naomi is. No ego

Is Osaka even human or robot….she never smiles, in fact has no expressions at all, probably the most boring tennis player on the planet. I’m not sure how anyone can enjoy watching her. Don’t get me wrong, I have no animosity towards her, just curious why she is so popular, she’s like watching paint dry.

戦えただけで嬉しくてヘコヘコするのではなく、本当に勝つ気でやっていたからこそ負けて悔しいんじゃないかな

普通なら大先輩でグランドスラマーの大坂選手はティーンから見たら憧れ。
日本人選手に限らず誰だって「挑戦できて嬉しいです！」となりそうなものだが・・

I spent way too much time trying to find the name of this tournament. I was like “Yes Osaka Round 1 match but what tournament is she playing in?!” 💀😭
Wakana, sooo good!! She looked a little bit nervous at the first set, but getting better. She definitely will be a great player from now on😊
