　Snow Manの目黒蓮が、10月スタートのTBS系連続ドラマ『ザ・ロイヤルファミリー』（日曜午後9時）に出演することが3日に発表された。目黒が日曜劇場に出演するのは本作が初となる。
　本作は、早見和真氏の小説『ザ・ロイヤルファミリー』（新潮文庫刊）が原作。山本周五郎賞やJRA賞馬事文化賞を受賞した同作を基に、競馬の世界を舞台にひたすら夢を追い続けた大人たちが、家族や仲間との絆によって奇跡を起こしていく姿を20年にわたり描く壮大な人間ドラマとなる。 　主人公の税理士・栗須栄治を妻夫木聡が演じ、佐藤浩市、松本若菜、沢村一樹、黒木瞳、小泉孝太郎、安藤政信、高杉真宙、津田健次郎、吉沢悠といった豪華キャストの出演も発表されている。今回、目黒が演じるのは、物語のかぎを握る重要な役どころ。役柄の詳細は明かされておらず、ドラマ本編で初めて公開される。
