Mboko hopefully a rising star. I still have to admit this was one of the most boring finals I have seen in a long time. Osaka looked like she didn't even want to be there. I know her mental health is fragile and the crowd didn't help any, cheering every error she made, but her stoic comportment spoke volumes. A match of unforced errors galore, maybe even a record of broken games. Yeah, let's take the victory and move on quickly.
The one who dominated the first set could not be that bad later. Something must have been up.

Mboko is such a fresh factor in women’s tennis. The sport needs her big time. The smile, the defense, the IQ, the power. She just needs a net game to become a full top 5 player.
Sad for Osaka’s mental collapse in this match but she’s getting back to her level. She will do better at USO with fans who love her vs Canadian home team at this tournament who justly want a Canadian champion

WOW! This could be the birth of a new elite player named Victoria Mboko. You don't beat Gauff, Rybakina and Osaka in one tournament coming in as a wild card. That's truly an accomplishment.
