    I was 17 and I was so deeply in love with a girl named Margaret (Maggie) and I remember our first kiss (at Nicholson Catholic College in Belleville Ontario no less!! Don't tell the nuns!) ) while this song played in the student lounge…..it has been 50 years and while I have no idea where my Maggie is these days, I still love her and this song just reminds me of what it felt like to love that deeply…that feeling that you are going to explode if you don't see her, touch her hand or just hear her voice…..unfortunately it also reminds me of what a moron I was for breaking up with her…..

    my grandmothers favourite artist – we named our cat maggie may after this song and rod ❤️ she passed away 2 years ago now, i listen to this and maggie comes running ! thank you rod ❤️

    I wonder if songs named after people are about real people and what those people think about them (good or bad) like Maggie. Or Starship’s Sara, Boston’s Amanda, Rolling Stone’s Angie, John Denver’s Annie, Perry’s Sherrie, whoever Jessie and his girl are in Springfield’s song.

    I play this song for my little Girl!: Her name is Maggie Mae. And she's a Chi- Wennie. I play and sing it to her. She loves hearing her Name! MAGGIE MAE. She makes me laugh to see her get excited over it.
