“The Getaway” ist das elfte Studioalbum der Red Hot Chili Peppers – und es wartet mit einer spannenden Neuerung auf: Erstmals seit 25 Jahren ist nicht Rick Rubin Produzent, sondern Danger Mouse (u.a. The Black Keys, Beck, Gorillaz). Das Mixing übernahm mit Radioheads langjährigem Stammproduzenten Nigel Godrich ebenfalls ein nicht ganz Unbekannter. In einem Interview mit dem Q Magazine kommentierte Bassist Flea unlängst: “Wir bewegen uns in eine neue Ära und wir sind wirklich begeistert.”
