Although I grew up with the cascades version, I have to say this is the better version. I discovered it this week on Monday. I was out with my college colleague in a restaurant not too far from my college. I heard this song playing in the background, and I instantly recognized it. The lyrics took me back to my preteen youth when I made ship edits of my favorite pairs. But I then realized the song was not the same. It's calmer and slower. Usually, I'm not a fan of slow songs, I like something that's upbeat and fast. But this song, although not the same one I grew to remember, sounded better than the one I know. Funny, really. If I never went out with my colleagues, I would have never discovered this is the original version.
