[JAPAN] Margaret Natsuki Gibb Tribute – Model & Actress

This video introduces you to Ms. Margaret Natsuki Gibb (aka Maggy). Maggy was scouted by one of the famous talent agencies in Tokyo, Japan. She started out as a fashion model for famous women’s fashion magazines. Today, Maggy has successfully expanded her career to acting as well.
Maggy was born in Kobe, Hyogo prefecture to a Japanese mother and a Scottish father. Iain Gibb, Maggy’s father, is a well-known voice actor and narrator in both Canada and Japan. Iain’s family is originally from Scotland and became a Canadian citizen. His family or Maggy’s paternal grandparents now all live in Halifax, Canada. They are a close-knit Scottish family.
When Maggy was age 2, her family moved to Halifax, Canada due to her father’s job. When Maggy turned age 4, her parents split and got divorced. Maggy’s father stayed in Halifax. Maggy’s Japanese mother, Maggy, and her younger brother, Billy (William) left for Japan. Both Maggy and Billy were close to their Scottish grandparents, so this separation was hard for all of them.
After Maggy and Billy returned to Japan with their mother, they were still too small to travel to see their father and their paternal grandparents in Halifax. However, thanks to the Internet, they kept in touch daily.
In Japan, Maggy and Billy attended international schools to keep up with their English language, so they are bilingual. Growing up with no father was difficult for them, as much as it was difficult for Iain and Maggy’s grandparents.
In 2008, at the age of sixteen (16), Maggy studied and worked hard, earning money as a fashion model so that someday she could go to Halifax. One of her jobs, a TV program, gave her a chance to visit her father and paternal grandparents. Since Maggy was 4 years old, they didn’t have a chance to see each other in person, so it was filled with joy and tears. Maggy and Billy were thankful for the TV program.
Today, Maggy is doing well in her career, winning awards such as the Best Smile Award in the LesPros Girls Audition 2008. She also made her debut as a film actress in Japan. In April 2009, Maggy appeared in the sports news program Sport on Fuji TV. This show made her famous all over Japan and Asia. Since Oct 2014, Maggy has been appearing as a regular guest on NTV’s variety show “Hi.ru.nan.de.su!” every Monday. She also hosts the variety show Buzz Rhythm with Japanese comedian Baka-rhythm on NTV since April 2015.
Maggy and Bill visit Halifax to see their grandparents annually, and their father visits his talented children in Japan regularly as well. Iain always loved Japan but because of his job with a Canadian company, he had to live in Canada. Today, Iain quit his job to be with his ex-wife and grown-up children in Japan. Best of luck to her and her family!!
